Invitation to Go Deeper

Greetings! Our November contemplative experience will be led by Cynthia Scott, S.D., on a message of hope from the beloved theologian, mystic, and social justice advocate Howard Thurman. We will gather at the Interfaith Contemplative Center, 4770 Harrison Drive, Las Vegas on Saturday, November 15 from 9:30 AM to Noon.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOWARD THURMAN –  This month we celebrate the 126th birthday of Howard Thurman – theologian, mystic, preacher, educator, activist and author – by sharing his messages of hope to strengthen us, as he did the civil rights activists of the 1960’s, for the journey ahead. In 1927 Thurman wrote “{One must} release to the full our greatest spiritual powers, that there may be such a grand swell of spiritual energy that existing systems will be upset from sheer dynamic.” With our own internal spark of the divine and Thurman’s words to guide us, may our continuing journey lead us to share in his awareness “that God {is} not yet done with me, that I need not fear the darkness, nor delude myself that the contradictions of life are final…”
