The Baha’i Faith
Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity.
Be fair in thy judgment, and guarded in thy speech.
Be a lamp unto those who walk in darkness, and a home to the stranger.
Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring.
Be a breath of life of the body of humankind, a dew to the soil of the human heart,
and a fruit upon the tree of humility.

O God of our innermost depths—-
Help us to see that this world is very incomplete and needs our help and cooperation.
Let us use the minds that we have been given and have developed to think clearly and reason well.
Let us listen to our hearts as they beat not alone for ourselves but also for humanity. May we increase our love and our love of tolerance as love is of the heart.
With our hands, let us focus on the essential work of the world that ever awaits our caring touch in the eternal cause of freedom.
By seeing with our eyes and thinking with our heads and loving with our hearts, the work of the world is always awaiting our hands.
May we be inspired to that sense of commitment that is the hallmark of the religious life.

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

May I be a protector to those without protection,
A leader for those who journey,
And a boat, a bridge, a passage
For those desiring the further shore.
May the pain of every living creature
Be completely cleared away.
May I be the doctor and the medicine
And may I be the nurse
For all sick beings in the world
Until everyone is healed.
Just like space
And the great elements such as earth
May I always support the life
Of all the boundless creatures.
And until they pass away from pain
May I also be the source of life
For all the realms of varied beings
That reach unto the ends of space.

May we see the day when war and bloodshed cease
when a great peace will embrace the whole world.
Then nation shall not threaten nation
and humankind will not again know war.
For all who live on earth shall realize
we have not come into being to hate or destroy.
We have come into being
to praise, to labour, and to love.
Compassionate God, bless all the leaders of all nations
with the power of compassion.
Fulfill the promise conveyed in Scripture:
“I will bring peace to the land,
and you shall lie down and no one shall terrify you.
I will rid the land of vicious beasts
and it shall not be ravaged by war.”
Let love and justice flow like a mighty stream.
Let peace fill the earth as the waters fill the sea.
And let us say: Amen.
