About the Tournament

On Saturday, June 7 three Las Vegas non-profit organizations, Camp Anytown, Camp Brotherhood/Sisterhood and the Westside School Alumni Foundation will host the 2nd annual Monroe Williams and Shannon West-Redwine Golf Tournament at the Palm Valley Golf Course.

Proceeds from the tournament allow us to provide a variety of experiences and opportunities to youth from our underserved communities.

Camp Anytown, sponsored by the Interfaith Council of Southern Nevada, is a nationally recognized, award-winning, 50 year old training program for youth in leadership skills, human relations and diversity.

Camp Brotherhood/Sisterhood was established to mentor and provide essential educational opportunities to disadvantaged African Americans.

The Westside School Alumni Foundation provides academic scholarships and financial support to students who pursue curriculums in the arts, trade and technical fields.

Almost all of the money we need to underwrite our cost comes from benevolent community minded individuals like you. I hope you consider our golf tournament and the benefits to our youth. We appreciate any level of sponsorship you might provide, I know these youngsters will to!

The Golf Tournament honors the legacy of two of Las Vegas’ youth advocates, mentors and trailblazers.

  • Fire Captain Monroe Williams was a Las Vegas trailblazer; one of the first two black firefighters hired by the city of Las Vegas in 1963. He was a role model who inspired others to follow in his footsteps.
  • Shannon West-Redwine was a community leader known for her large impact on homeless and youth services in Southern Nevada. She was an integral part of the Camp Anytown program, Camp Anytown family and the program’s continuation for Clark County Students.
