Tutu Global Forgiveness Challenge

Journey of Forgiveness with Desmond and Mpho Tutu

The Forgiveness Challenge is a free, 30-day online forgiveness workshop consisting of daily exercises and reflections hosted by Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu and his daughter Mpho Tutu. Anglican bishop Desmond Tutu was honored with the Peace Prize  in 1984 for his opposition to South Africa’s apartheid regime. Archbishop Tutu continues to be a world leader in the struggle for human rights. He believes that all people are God’s children, sisters and brothers, members of the same family.

From the Tutu Global Forgiveness Challenge:

“This 30-day Challenge is for all who need forgiveness, whether you want to forgive or to be forgiven.

We will explore the Fourfold Path of Forgiving and learn how to use it to break the pattern of hurt and anger in our lives. The steps of the Fourfold Path are simple, but moving through them takes courage and honesty. The steps are:

  • Telling the Story
  • Naming the Hurt
  • Granting Forgiveness
  • Renewing or Releasing the Relationship.

During the Challenge we will tell you all about these steps and show you how to walk your own path with simple written exercises, videos and contemplations. It will take less than fifteen minutes each day. We look forward to guiding you along your journey to forgiveness. Together we will heal our hearts, our homes and our world.

Remember that in each of us there is an innate ability to create joy out of suffering, to find hope in the most hopeless of situations, and to heal any relationship in need of healing.

As we move towards the beginning of our journey to forgiveness, I ask that you reflect on the relationships in your own life in need of healing.”

For the journey, you can go as quickly or as slowly as your time allows. You will always be able to return to earlier days to review our discussions and complete any Challenges you are still working on.

We will be doing the same…

Blessings,

Desmond & Mpho”

“With each act of forgiveness, whether small or great, we move toward wholeness.”
